Don’t be fooled by the clear skies. It is freezing cold in Kaiteriteri. Two brave Saffas are swimming though. With their South African flag. Africa is not for sissies. Neither is the water temperature.
After that invigorating swim, it was time to roadtrip up to Picton, with a pitstop in Moutere (pronounced Moo-Tree), at the oldest pub in New Zealand. The Moutere Inn Brewery offers tastings of their fine craft beers. Which we obviously did. Along with a few platters. No disappointment for us.
Picton was the destination for the day. It really is such a beautiful little town with amazing views. Nice to reach it with daylight to spare, leaving time for a walk and a spot of fishing.
